Got Money…..issues?

Interesting thing about money….

You would have a hard time finding someone with no money “issues”.  Some more than

It doesn’t matter about money; having it, not having it. Or having clothes, or not having them. You’re still left alone with yourself in the end.

others…granted.  But money, in some capacity (desire for it, derision of it) impacts the way most people make decisions.

Some people are blessed with a very positive money mindset and no matter what they do they find a way to make money.  Losing it doesn’t even impact them greatly because they have confidence they’ll make it back (a la Donald Trump).

Others seem to be cursed with a negative money mindset…no matter what they do, it slips through their fingers.  (such as people who win the lottery and end up back in debt)

Wonderful thing about this, and most everything in life, is that once you recognize that the belief is limiting, you can take control of it and make a change.

I have come to realize that my nature is to give and give.  It has influenced my decisions in a way that has kept me from asking for the money my services deserve.  Simply understanding, that I can still be generous and not feel guilty about making a living, has made all the difference in my business.

If you would like to take more control of your money issues, there is a wonderful resource I just found coming up on May 11th at

Action Step:  Ask yourself what your financial goals are and if there are any beliefs or values you attach to money that may be holding you back.  If the answer is yes reach out to a professional in that area.

Hi Heather! I love what you said about giving! I realize that I can only give what I possess. When I cheapened my products, services and commissions, I was refusing the blessing that was before me. As weird as this might sound, refusing the blessing is a form of pride and through humility, we learn to receive…. even money.

The other part of the equation was when I learned to give. The Bible calls it tithing, 10%. Check this out. Malachi 3:9-12.

9 You are under a curse —your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe, ” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.

This is the only place in the Bible where God says, “test me in this.” Back in the day, God’s people weren’t giving.

When I started giving, my finances improved, my faith improved and I saw amazing things happen.
