Appreciation= “recognition of value or expression of gratitude…”
I am grateful for the value you bring into my life!
Wonderful to hear the feedback that I was missed when I didn’t get to post last week’s blog. The love and appreciation makes me feel warm and fuzzy!!
Know what I love about appreciation? It uplifts both the giver and the receiver. You’d be hard pressed to find anything less than beneficial of sincere appreciation.
My question to you…
Do you express your appreciation for the people that touch your life often enough?
Is there anyone that you’ve ‘been meaning to call’? Any unsaid ‘thank you’s? Have you been at all remiss in letting people know how important they are to you?
Studies have shown the therapeutic effects of gratitude and appreciation on the overall sense of wellbeing of individuals (Sansone, 2010). In addition, if you are a manager, be aware of the fact that boosting morale with demonstrations of appreciation for your employees has a direct correlation to the productivity within the organization.
Think about how you feel when someone recognizes a job well done or the effort you put into a project. It makes you want to continue to excel and to find ways to creatively express your talents and gifts.
Appreciation is a beautiful gift. Give it frequently, abundantly, and lovingly.
Action Step: Make a list of the top 5 people that inspire your gratitude. After each name write the reason…the Why. Then decide if an email, call, note, or more is an appropriate expression of your appreciation. Then…Yes, you guessed it!!! Do It!
