Change Her Mind!!
Change your mind…change your state!
I first heard this term at a Tony Robbins Unleash the Power Within conference and believe in it whole heartedly. We have the power to adapt our emotional well-being based upon the thoughts that we create in our mind.
Problem is that sometimes Change is forced upon us and we need to come to terms with it before we can use it in the most powerful and productive way.
Change of job status.
Change of relationship status.
Change of demographic.
Change of tax bracket.
Change of life.
Any of these sound familiar??
Change can cause us to become fearful of the unknown future and feel out of control.
Interestingly enough….change is also the impetus for growth, opportunity, and unlimited potential!
Have you ever gone through a huge transition that felt stifling and scary in the moment…and later you looked back and said, “Thank goodness! That was the turning point!” Happens all the time.
If you are experiencing change and are unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel, remember to trust the process. Or to quote a beautiful friend, “Embrace the chaos!” There is much healing and learning to be found for an open mind and heart.
Dr. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, psychiatrist, near death expert, and author of renowned book On Death and Dying, has a 5 step process on grieving that relates to all types of transition.
If you are experiencing difficulty in understanding the change process or moving through the stages to acceptance, I recommend Kubler-Ross’ book and reaching out for assistance and encouragement. The supportive relationships we build help to ensure more effective transitions as well as a more joyful journey.
My primary recommendation is to simply Explore the Possibilities. When faced with any challenge, we have a choice to feel a wall of resistance or focus on solutions. Endless potential for growth (both personally and professionally) is possible when we alter our perception of a situation.
Action Step: Focus on one specific challenge or life/business change you are currently experiencing. Sit down and list all the potential solutions or positive outcomes without judgment. Carry the sheet with you throughout the day and each time another idea comes to you, write it down. Including exercise or connecting with nature during this process is also extremely helpful. You will be astounded by the many options that present themselves to you in this way.
