When I told a friend that I was running a full day retreat this weekend he said, “Why do they call it a retreat? You aren’t helping people withdraw, you are helping them advance.”
During a highly interactive 7 hour “retreat”, we discussed both. The importance of turning down the volume on external voices and looking within for our authentic voice as well as the desire to overcome fear and confidently move forward to achieve a productive and joyful life.
I was so pleased with how open the participants were in revealing their own challenges and hopes as well as in their willingness to share and help each other.
It was enjoyable to co-present with speaker and body/mind fitness coach Joni Lowe and involve friend, realtor, and speaker Linda McCaffrey. Collaboration is energizing.
So, my question for you is….are you in need of some time to retreat into yourself and examine your hopes and dreams and intentions? Or do you need to advance your skills and plans with bold action steps? Both are imperative to growth and success.
Action Step: Take 5 minutes each morning to quiet your mind and allow your heart the freedom to provide you with new insights. Then take 5 minutes to decide your most important action for the day.
