Secrets…Not Fit for the Y Chromosome

Last chance gentlemen, turn away while you still can…

Okay ladies…a little one on one conversation.  I led a workshop this weekend for a group of lovely, high-energy women.  We talked about taking time for rejuvenation, health, gratitude and goals for 2011.  We also gave our bodies and minds a treat with yoga stretching and a dance to free the soul.

They came from all levels of dance experience but they moved joyfully and they each looked beautiful!

It led me to think about women in general…

  1.  Women are stunning when living joyfully.  Their body type and facial features have nothing to do with it, any woman can be appealing when confident and exuberant.  Then I began to think about how important it is for women to feed their spirit in order to feel attractive and sexy.  And here’s a secret…the ability a woman has to appreciate her body and confidently express her sexuality is in direct correlation to the amount of pleasure she is able to feel.
  2. Women are care takers.  They are multi-tasking mavens able to be the bread winners, rear the children, keep the house in order, the food on the table, create, give, or tend to friends and other family members…often handling all of these simultaneously.
  3. What are these superstars often lacking?  The ability to care for themselves.  Others’ needs often come first and our ‘roles’ of mother, business owner, wife, and friend come before the role of self.

“We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise we harden.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Don’t harden! You can remain young and vibrant at any age.  Live and Love Fully. You will be better in all of your roles when you take the time to care for YOU. Go, Be…Joyful.

Action Step:  Ladies…make a list of all the things that refresh and rejuvenate you…read, massage, talk with girlfriends, walk in the woods, sand a table, sit by a lake, window shop for shoes, garden, watch a good movie, whatever works for you.  And make sure to take time for at least one each week.  (And for any of you men that didn’t listen and read this blog against my wishes…here’s your action step.  Encourage the woman in your life to take time for her.  It will very probably result in a more joyful, open woman more inclined to want to have fun with YOU!)
